Description

This fine example of an M78 is nicely maker marked on the left side of the receiver:

connected to a light in the cockpit by a slip ring on the propeller shaft

It was professionally period converted to an 18" barrel and appears correct in all respects

The basic design of the gun was so sound from the beginning that it was not modified significantly during its service life

as the cost of creating a die would have been prohibitive

British S.M.L.E Cut Out: WWI Royal Air Force This fine example of anOriginal Item: Rare early Enfield . 303 cal rifle magazine cut off plates known as "Cut Outs" used on only the earliest S. M. L. E. Rifles and ordered removed by General Order in 1916. They had been standard issue since 1903. So many early S. M. L. E. have these cut out plates missing since WW1, this is an opportunity not to be missed.(Regret no pivot screws available).
